Milma & NDDB team up to open NABL-accredited food testing hub in Kochi

In a major boost to food safety infrastructure in Kerala, the Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (Milma) and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) have jointly launched a new NABL-accredited food testing laboratory at Kochi’s Ernakulam Regional Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union (ERCMPU) campus in Edappally. FAO & WHO flag high-priority chemical contaminants in water for agri-food production

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) have jointly released a landmark global report highlighting the food safety risks posed by chemical contaminants in water used across agrifood systems. With agriculture accounting for a majority of global freshwater use and climate change increasing pressure on water supplies, the organisations warn that reliance on alternative or recycled water sources could expose crops and livestock to harmful chemicals — some of which may enter the human food chain. Read More
