Food Ministry Backs Edible Oil Industry, Forwards GST Refund Plea to Finance Ministry

The Food Ministry has forwarded the edible oil industry’s demand for restoration of Goods and Services Tax (GST) refunds on accumulated input tax credit (ITC) to the Finance Ministry, Food Secretary Sanjeev Chopra said on Tuesday. Punhani to replace Rao as new FSSAI CEO from September

The FSSAI will get a new chief executive officer from September as the current CEO GKV Rao is retiring on August 31, this year. IAS Rajit Punhani will replace Rao. The appointment committee of the cabinet, Government of India, has issued an order of appointment of Punhani, lAS (BH:91), currently serving as secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, as chief executive officer, Food Safety & Standards Authority of India, under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.  According to the order, the new appointment was done as GKV Rao, IAS (KL:90), will complete his term on August 31.
