The Karnataka State Horticulture Development Agency (KSHDA) proposes to develop Horticulture Farms at 18 locations in Karnataka under a Public-Private Partnership basis with a view to promoting horticulture production by introducing the latest technologies, innovative ideas and the required investments. The area of the farms proposed for development can vary from 60 to 650 acres each. The farms could serve as (a) Horticulture Resource Centres, (b) Botanical gardens and horticulture conservation centre and (c) Post harvest handling and marketing centres.
The proposal offers a good opportunity for Food Processors to develop the horticultural farms which can serve to meet the captive requirements of raw materials for the processing plants.
The KSHDA has invited tenders for the above purpose. The last date for submission of bids is 20th May 2010 (5.00 P.M.)
